Anne Muir has been given 3 years probation for illegally sharing music files on the Internet.
Anne Muir, the first person in Scotland to be convicted of sharing copyrighted music files via a peer to peer file sharing application, is said to be suffering from depression and hence would also receive psychiatric counselling.
The unique thing about this case seems to be that the online network wasn’t used for financial gains but to regain lost self esteem lost due to depression.
