According to UniSA, University students do not understand plagiarism and cheating rules because cutting and pasting from the internet has become common practice in schools.
South Australian universities are catching hundreds of students plagiarising or cheating each year.
Flinders University recorded 231 "academic integrity incidents".
Academic integrity breaches can include plagiarism, cheating, unauthorised collaboration, the theft of others’ work, paying for assignments, downloading assignments from the internet, falsifying data and misrepresenting records.
