Jointly organised by The University of Queensland (UQ) and the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT), the 2013 International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) event will be hosted for the first time in Australia on UQ’s St Lucia campus in Brisbane, with participants travelling from more than 80 countries to compete in this international informatics competition.
The Australian government has also announced that it will provide funding to IOI 2013 from the Australian Maths and Science Partnership Program. The program is designed to improve student engagement in maths and science through partnerships between universities, schools, and other relevant organisations.
