According to a recent vacancy posted by The University of Queensland Library (Australia) the following was the role/job description of a Librarian:
1. Engage with designated liaison areas (academic, hospital services, institutes, centres, external bodies and /or Alumni) by providing expert assistance in locating information through structured consultations, develop and maintain communications links to promote and market the Library services.
2. Assist clients with acquiring, discovering, accessing a range of information resources as well as designing and delivering a variety of information literacy programs.
